The 5th International Symposium on Aero-aqua Bio-Mechanisms (ISABMEC2012) was successfully closed on the afternoon of 28th August 2012.
We are pleased to inform you that the 5th International Symposium on Aero-aqua Bio-Mechanisms (ISABMEC2012) will be held from 25th to 28th August 2012 in Taipei, Taiwan. The ISABMEC is a unique series of international symposia started by The Society of Aero Aqua Bio-Mechanisms (ABMECH), aiming at bridging across biologists, scientists and engineers and advancing the interdisciplinary fields of novel mechanisms in biological systems and biomimetics. Our past symposia (Honolulu 2000, Honolulu 2003, Okinawa 2006 and Shanghai 2009) have been successful in attracting about 300 participants from more than 10 countries.
The ISABMEC 2012 in Taipei will be a memorable event for colleagues and friends from all over the world to establish friendships and to promote academic exchanges at an international and interdisciplinary level. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it gives us great pleasure to warmly welcome you and your colleagues to attend this symposium.

The 5th International Symposium on Aero-aqua Bio-Mechanisms (ISABMEC2012) was successfully closed on the afternoon of 28th August 2012. We would like to thank all the participants, organizing committee members, keynote speakers and staff.
We are planning to hold the 6th International Symposium on Aero-aqua Bio-Mechanisms in 2015 (ISABMEC2015).

We made a mistake that the file linked as "overall timetable" showed the detailed program, and the file linked as "detailed program" showed the overall timetable. Now we swapped them. See the corrected overall timetable and detailed program. (Contents are the same as that of 17th August, but the links are interchanged each other.)

Web registration site is closed. You can register yourself on-site during the symposium, and we welcomes you at the symposium registration desk!

Full Paper submission page and author guideline are revised. Figures does not have to be gblack/whiteh or grayscaleh. For the readability, colored figures are rather recommended. The deadline of full paper submission is therefore extended to June 30th, 2012.

We have received a large number of papers and the symposium is really shaping up. We do however have room for a few more papers so the organizing committee has decided to extend the Abstract deadline to April 14.
As you might already noticed in the Abstract submission page, we are planning to commend a few students who present excellent papers in our symposium as Student Awards. To become a student award candidate, the first author must be a student, and he/she must present the paper at the symposium. You can register your paper as a candidate in the Abstract submission page. We hope many students apply to this award.
